Contenox account and hosted models
A Contenox account gives each machine you sign in a licence: which hosted models it may use, the capabilities they carry and an allowance. Signing in configures the hosted provider and assigns the models to the IDE’s roles (chat, autocomplete, next edit, workspace search); each assignment is checked with a real request before it is saved. Nothing here is required: local models and your own providers work without an account.
Section titled “Sign in”- Create an account at app.contenox.com and open Account → Pairing keys → Create a key. A key is valid once and for a short time.
- In the IDE, choose Sign in to Contenox and paste the key. Or in a terminal:
contenox-cli license sign-in --key <pairing key>A machine that is already paired keeps its pairing when you sign in again: it checks in and applies the licence without spending the new key. A key is redeemed only when the account no longer honours the machine’s pairing, for example after you revoked it in the app.
Check the licence
Section titled “Check the licence”contenox-cli license status # signed in or not, the plan, the models and which role each servescontenox-cli license refresh # check in now and apply the licence if it changedcontenox-cli license usage # what this account and this machine used in the current windowA role no granted model can serve is listed with the reason instead of being
left empty. If a licence is held but not applied, license refresh applies it.
Machines and plans
Section titled “Machines and plans”Each plan allows a number of paired machines. When the limit is reached, a new sign-in is refused with the reason; revoke a machine you no longer use under Account in the app, or upgrade the plan.
